Black women in Marion County who are pregnant or have had a baby in the last five years are invited to participate in a focus group and share their experiences about being pregnant and the care they received during and after their pregnancies. Participants can earn $20 for participation. The sessions are:

* Saturday, 10 a.m. to noon, Reddick Public Library, 15150 NW Gainesville Road, Reddick

* Saturday, 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., Marion Oaks Library, 294 Marion Oaks Lane, Ocala

* Dec. 13, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Parkside Gardens Apartments, 621 NW 2nd St., Ocala

Results will be contributed to the statewide initiative Florida’s Healthy Babies, which aims to positively influence social determinants and reduce racial disparity in infant mortality.

The focus groups are being conducted by WellFlorida Council for the Department of Health in Marion County. Call 727-3765 or visit www.WellFlorida.org.
