Sponsored by the UF Health Disparities Research and Intervention Program, under the direction of Dr. Carolyn M. Tucker and in collaboration with the Suwannee River Area Health Education Center, under the direction of Ms. Sarah Catalanotto.

The purpose of the walk is to promote achieving a healthy weight and reducing obesity among children, adults, and families in Alachua County. Moreover, the walk seeks to increase awareness of the health disparities that exist in Florida and the nation, and highlight strategies for eliminating these disparities.

Participants in the walk will include Alachua County community members, University of Florida faculty, staff, and students, and UF Health and VA patients and health care providers.

Complete the route at your own pace and join us for prizes, healthy snacks & water and important information on obesity & health disparities.
