WellFlorida
Council’s High Impact Prevention (HIP) project will be tabling again this year
at the Ocala Pride event on Oct. 19 from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Tuscawilla
Park. HIP will also be tabling at the Gainesville Pride event on Oct. 26 from 1
p.m. to 9 p.m. at Bo Diddley Plaza.

Both events
are free and open to the public. Guests can enjoy live music from local bands

Local businesses are invited to participate in Business Responds to AIDS, a partnership between WellFlorida Council and businesses interested in ending HIV/AIDS. Businesses participating in the program provide prevention messages and materials to customers, employees and neighborhoods, and can also serve as a free HIV testing site.

The Certificate of Need (CON) program has been eliminated for general hospitals as of July 1. CON, which has been in effect in Florida since the 1970’s, is a regulatory process that requires certain healthcare providers to obtain state approval before offering certain new or expanded services. Prophylaxis (PrEP) is a comprehensive HIV prevention strategy where people at
extremely high risk for HIV take daily HIV medications to lower their chances

Results, along with research and health related data, will be made available in a community health needs assessment in summer 2019.

Council recently released the 2018 health data for each county in North Central
Florida and the collective region. A PDF version of the profiles along with additional
health information is now available on the website.

WellFlorida Council provides annual county health profiles to
help residents and community leaders get an accurate overview of the health

WellFlorida Council is excited to announce the new website launch for HIV Care Programs, an optimal resource built to educate the public about healthcare and support services for people living with HIV in North Central Florida, HIV prevention and how to stay healthy.

The website is the product of a partnership
among WellFlorida Council, Ryan White HIV patient care providers in Area 3/13
and the North Central Florida CARE Consortium. The partnership helps provide
