NCFHCC Annual Training Summit, Sessions 1 and 2
People affected by disasters and emergency situations may experience varying levels of stress and anxiety. They may also display symptoms that could adversely affect their ability to respond and function. A range of mental health and behavioral problems may surface in the stages of an emergency situation. Recognizing and addressing these concerns improves emergency response and can assist in healthy recovery following a traumatic event, natural disaster, public health emergency or personal crisis. Youth and Adult Mental Health First Aid trainings build skills that can be applied in emergency response.
