Monday is the 26th annual World AIDS Day, and team members of WellFlorida’s High Impact Prevention program are out in force to bring free HIV testing to the area today.

The day begins at Ferran Park in Eustis, where WellFlorida is providing free testing at the Lake County World AIDS Day Celebration from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Then, at 11 a.m., WellFlorida is hosting a free testing event at Santa Fe College until 1 p.m. The day ends with a free testing event at the University of Florida’s Yulee hall from 5 to 7 p.m.

World AIDS Day events will continue throughout the week. WellFlorida has partnered with LGBT Affairs at the University of Florida for a free HIV testing and education event called Know the ABCS of HIV Prevention at Peabody Hall in Room 411 from 1 to 4 p.m on Dec. 27.

The fight against HIV isn’t just limited to a single day or week. WellFlorida’s High Impact Prevention program team provides regular HIV testing events every month at various venues in Alachua, Columbia, Lake, Marion and Putnam Counties.

The High Impact Prevention program focuses on projects devoted to HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment in North Central Florida. For more information, visit www.everyonestopaidsnow.org.
